Customary land
Communities' land rights exist whether or not a digital deed does.
No “unowned” land by default
Under the Land Rights Act of 2018, customary ownership can be proven by oral testimony and long-standing community relationships. Smart Land 360 never labels customary land as unowned because no digital deed exists.
Participatory mapping
Community boundaries are identified with community representatives and neighbouring communities, then recorded as provisional until agreed and certified.
Privacy safeguards
Sensitive community information is visible only to authorised officers and the community's representatives.
